Audit Info & Process

What we check

We check who you are: your business identity and ownership. We check your naming and trademark position, to make sure there's no obvious clash or impersonation. We check your public reputation, using reviews and other publicly available information. Where claimed, we check identity or diversity claims, like queer-owned or disability-led, against real, verifiable public information only, such as your own site and socials, public reviews, and official registries. We never ask for private or sensitive proof beyond what you've chosen to make public.

Audit Structure

The audits are separated into 7 different sections: Basic vetting, Authenticity & Originality, Community & Subculture, Inclusivity & Accessibility, Reputation & Red-Flags, Mini Marketing Audit, & Mini Website Audit.

Information we WILL vs WILL NOT use in audits

All section information are pulled from public information through internet search, through socials, standard Google search, as well as any links and websites that includes the audited business's information, involvement, or products.

We believe that a business owner's actions heavily reflects what the business represents and stands for. Thus, any personal socials openly linked to any audited businesses WILL be included in the audits.

However, we WILL NOT actively seek out owner or staff information that are not linked or directly mentioned in public materials.

One service, tiered depth

Full Audit, the top listing tier at £893 a year, bundles the full audit, on top of a mandatory media cleanliness certification into being a corporate-size listed business. Brand Alignment Checks from all tiers bellow the Full Audit is a lighter version, made for businesses with less corporate and social responsibilities. Tiers are separated according to business size and amount of public content for auditing.

Teach first, exclude last

If something doesn't check out, you'll get the chance to explain or correct it before anything more serious happens (a tag withheld, a listing paused, or removed). Exclusion is a last resort, not a first response.

Re-audits

All sellers on our directory will be re-audited every year as their subscription rolls. We also re-audit when something material changes. Such changes include controversies arising from your business, significant growth, or if something we checked stops matching what's on your listing.

Quarterly scans & Check-ups

On top of the annual audit, we also aim to do a quarterly sweep check for all businesses on the directory. As mentioned above: we believe in a "Teach first, exclude last" approach. Thus, all flags and potential issues in relations to ethics, commodification, or controversies will be first notified through direct contact, hoping to aid you in resolving the issue, before moving onto committee decision making and any announcement to the community.
